Junior Manager – Purchase

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Manager – Purchase to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will manage procurement operations efficiently — ensuring timely availability of materials, cost optimization, vendor development, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute purchase activities for raw materials, packaging, engineering, and consumables.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate price, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve best value procurement.
• Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and follow-up for material delivery.
• Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, and Stores for material requirement planning (MRP).
• Maintain vendor performance records and update approved vendor lists.
• Track inventory levels and support in maintaining optimal stock without over-purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory norms, and audit requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.Com / BBA / B.Sc / B.Tech / MBA (Operations or Supply Chain preferred).
• Experience: 3–6 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or nutraceutical/FMCG/food ingredients industry.
• Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination ability
  • Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems and Excel
  • Sound understanding of purchase processes, vendor management & cost control
