Transition cows have a decreased rumen surface area when entering lactation, which is a result of the circumstances in the dry period. This results in limited nutrient and energy uptake during early lactation. To overcome this issue, MAXMUNE® can be used in the close-up period. MAXMUNE® stimulates rumen redevelopment. This results in better cow health and performance during calving and the lactation period, as well as improved colostrum quantity and quality.

Increased Immune Response when MAXMUNE^TM was Supplemented

There was a 1.42-fold increase in complementary protein C3 in the dry cows between 0 and 90th day. C3 protein helps kill bacteria and viruses that cause disease. It is one of the Protein which fights the infection & is an important part of your immune system.

Interferon gamma was found to increase 1.48 folds in milch group on 45th day and in dry test group it was increased 1.58 folds. Interferon‐gamma (IFN‐γ) is a cytokine that plays an important role in inducing and modulating an array of immune responses. They are secreted from infected cells and activate innate immune response that promotes not only cytokine production but also natural killer cell functions and antigen presentation.

IgM antibodies were found to increase up to 1.89-fold on 45th day in milch cows and 2.2-folds in dry test cows. IgM antibodies are usually of higher affinity and are found in blood and in extracellular fluid, where they can neutralize toxins, viruses, and bacteria, opsonize them for phagocytosis, and activate the complement system.
